What children take from us, they give.
We become people who feel more deeply,
question more deeply, and love more deeply. ~ Sonia Taitz
Last night I was editing these photographs, and when I starting working on the last of the three, tears started to well.
Something about the way they laughed together. The tender snuggles and their intimacy, that I captured in these photos…brought memories of the tenderness I shared with my own mother, right back to the present moment. What a gift that was.
I lost my mother to lung cancer 7 years ago. Witnessing and capturing this type of connection between mother and daughter fills me with such gratitude. Gratitude for having the mother I did and the connection we shared, gratitude that she taught me to feel deeply, love deeply and live passionately, and most of all gratitude for being a mother myself.
I couldn’t dream of having a better job.
****more yummy family photographs from Our World Montessori 2009 graduation still to come…..
