Breast Cancer Dance performance/tribute on So you think you can dance

I really enjoy watching so you think you can dance. It seems deeper than most reality shows and the performances are often very good and very interesting.

Last night this performance blew me away. The routine done by Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obayomi was choreographed by Tyce Diorio and was created to honor breast cancer patients. Melissa was portraying a breast cancer patient and Ade was her loved one.

About 15 seconds in I started to get those shiver waves up my back/neck that travel across my skull -the kind I get usually when listening to an amazing singing performance. At first I thought maybe I was so deeply moved because I lost my mother to lung cancer and the dancers, but at the end you could see the audience was also in tears and each of the judges were choked up as well. This is the first dance performance I have seen that touched me this deeply. The dancer emoted feelings of such comple I could relate to. About 30 seconds in the tears started to fall and I am telling you by the end I was full out crying. I admit I can be pretty emotional but what talent. To convey such emotion through dance (I think the music added a lot too). You may want to get some tissues before watching this.

I love “So You think you can dance” and saw the performance as well. It was extremely moving especially since I am a Breast Cancer survivor entering my third year of recovery.

I knew there was a reason I liked you :)
