Did you know you could get a virtual home makeover with eDecor plans?

While on vacation I received an email from Diane of Inspired Room Design, letting me know that she featured my Bounty print in her second blog post on her new website.

Diane is an interior designer who offers in person and online design consultations and design work. She offers eDecor where “Your personalized, custom room makeover is delivered in a fun digital magazine article with a floorplan, 3D renderings, custom color scheme, Inspiration Board with live shopping links, and a to-do list. It’s a complete room redesign plan that you complete on your own schedule.” I love the cool design tools she uses and shows examples of on her website. What a clever business.

From her site: “It’s a new way to work with an interior decorator, wherever you live, even if your budget is modest. For clients anywhere, Inspired Room Design develops customized eDecor Plans that give you direction, down to the last detail, for creating a room that fits your needs and your personal style. In Northwest Lower Michigan I offer a range of in-home design consultation services.”

When I read Diane’s blog post Color Love: Chartreuse I had a laugh at her question “And who ever thought of putting blueberries in a bud vase?!”

This has been one of my most popular photographs, yet it had very little planning. A couple years ago I bought two blueberry bushes on sale at our local nursery in the late summer. I didn’t know if they would make it, but the following spring they bore shiny leaves and a couple of blueberries.  As soon as I saw this perfect berries surrounded by shiny leaves, I cut the stem and came upstairs to my computer desk by the window (window light is the best to photograph with) and started to think of the best way to photograph this branch.

I scoured through some scrap book paper, as a backdrop.  I needed something to balance the twig,  so I  got this bud vase from the spare bedroom. I wasn’t all that pleased it was blue but it would do. I balanced the vase on a stack of books and brought out my Duaflex camera and my digital camera to get this through the viewfinder photo. I took what felt like a gazillion photos, trying to not get the books in the photo, yet get the light just right. I love through the viewfinder photography, but it takes a lot of manipulation for me to get just what I want in the frame. It is wonderful practice with composition, since you cannot crop bits out. What is there is what is there.

During editing, the photograph brought on a little philosophical reminder to  look at the richness I have in my life now, while remembering there are other berries (riches) that are still ripening that may not look as good, but will come to fruition and can be enjoyed in the future.
