I do not advertise that I offer event photography, so I thought I would share some of the event photography I have done. If you have an event you are interested in having photographed, email me and we can discuss my offerings.
My first large event job, was my job as event photographer for The Squam Art Workshop Retreat this past Fall. The experience was so wonderful and I was pretty pleased with the results, especially with the group shot.
I can’t claim credit for all the amazing beauty you see here. The magic of the event just shines through all these gorgeous beautiful souls. But I can say that standing on a huge boulder rock for a better angle, right along Squam lake, taking this photograph- was a BIG moment for me and my photography career. At this moment I felt a shift-where my dream of being a photographer seemed to take over. I no longer felt I had a choice as to where this business would lead, it was time for me to let it just happen as it should. You will be seeing a lot of never seen photographs from Squam in the next few weeks. I have been so lucky that my business has taken off and I have had to take my time editing all the individual photographs I took on the side at Squam. I have been working hard on prioritizing so my business can thrive. This means putting my paying jobs first:)

My next large event was photographing the Reception of a Wedding on New Years eve night. To say there was no natural light available is an understatement. I wasn’t going to bring my off camera lighting set up for the tight quarters. I had gained a real comfort with my flash at this point-so I felt excited to go into the reception with confidence that I would be able to capture all the joy and love at the event even though there was no natural light. It was soooooooo fun! Oh my what could be better for a photographer looking to capture connections, love, relationships and personalities than a wedding reception?
My most recent large photography event, was my husband Terry’s, Maternal Grandfathers, 95th birthday party. I had a family shoot earlier that morning and was only nervous that I would be a bit pooped, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was ready to go. It has been a long time since so many family members were able to get together. Unfortunately there were a good handful of them that were unable to attend, and we really missed them. There was a moment at the event, when my reason for cherishing my job was brought front and center. After blowing out his candles, Terry’s Grandfather held up a framed photograph of him and his wife-the look of love on his face said it all-and the emotion of it has made me forget his exact words….but he brought a photograph of his wife Irma so that she could be there with him, with us, to celebrate his 95th birthday. He asked all of us to take a moment of silence in her memory….it was beautiful and a memory I will cherish forever. Photographs help us remember. Photographs assist us in remembering those we love, important moments we had and symbolize our presence when we are unable to be there. Goodness I love my work!
