When I met Suzanne and Cory for the first time to talk about photographing their wedding, in the first few moments I felt at ease and fascinated. These two have the most wonderful stories to share. I could spend hours listening to them tell me about their lives and their love affair. By the end of our meeting I had my fingers crossed beneath the table that they would pick me to photograph their wedding:) I even said some embarrassing mushy things to them that I will refrain from posting here, because it would show what an utter geek I can be! I am just glad it didn’t scare them from hiring me!
I would love to share every special quality I learned about them during our emails, meeting and session, but I literally just finished a marathon editing session to finish up the gallery, and am left with just damp eyes and a full heart and few words. Since I am so excited to share these, I will post what Suzanne and Cory have up on their wedding page on The Knot with a few comments and then I will come back later to add more.
Suzanne and Cory were introduced by a mutual friend during Fall 2005 after Suzanne moved back to Albany to pursue her Ph.D. in Science Curriculum Development (something Suzanne and I have in common-teaching and science- one thing we don’t share-I stopped with a MS:) Suzanne, I am in awe of what you do.) The dynamic duo became fast friends, partaking in countless adventures over the years. They finally decided to make things official in Spring 2007, while on a surprise weekend trip to Baltimore for a Michael Franti Concert (must check out this music-I love it! -especially one step closer to you- Suzanne and Cory’s song) in celebration of Cory’s 30th birthday.
Since then, they have been spotted together kayaking in the mangroves in the Florida Keys (Terry and I love kayaking-you guys could always borrow our kayaks if you want to put in at Lock 7 here in Niskayuna), hot air ballooning across the Adirondacks (how romantic is that?), and competing in self – syndicated Iron Chef challenges in their kitchen (can you say YUM!). Whether on the go or spending a quiet evening at home, the famous couple never ceases to revel in their special brand of silliness.
Not only are these two gorgeous but my cheeks hurt they made me smile and laugh so much! Thanks again guys for picking me to capture your love story. It is an honor.
