It has been a fabulous week. The week before last -on Saturday was the start of the Professional Photographers’ Association of New York State Conference.
I signed up for the convention this past November and was so excited to meet all the photographers that were presenting and attending. It isn’t often that I have the opportunity to drive 10 minutes from my house to hear experts in my field sharing what they know.
Saturday Beth Forester presented about Senior High School Photography and clearly showed why she is a leader in the industry. I gained an entirely new perspective on:
1. traditional paper proofs: everything old is new again -
2. creating a menu of digital effects -
3. understanding the senior client
4. specialty products that your clients want
(this list is from her website where there is much more information about what she specializes in)
Beth is very nice and down to earth. I walked away with a lot of new valuable information. Thanks so much Beth for coming to PPSNYS. It was great to hear you and speak to you at the trade show.
I will be back with more about the conference….
And since I was so squished in the theatre seats I never pulled out my camera during the presentation – so here is a photograph I got of my super brave boy-who has learned in just a couple weeks of swim class how to swim like a shark (crawl along the shallow end is more like it-but he has his face under water!) Huge kudos to our super cautious boy:) and even bigger kudos to Leo the most fabulous small childrens coach I have ever met. He is an instructor at the Cicotti Center here in Colonie NY. If you have a little one and you would like them to learn to swim- water exploration with Leo will not disappoint.
