A springtime adventure ~ Albany Professional Photographer Thea Coughlin

I mentioned in a giveaway post a couple of weeks ago, that  I absolutely love Anemones and Ranunculus.

This past weekend one of Trey’s nearest and dearest friends was in town with her family. On Friday I took the two of them on an adventure to visit a gorgeous flower farm run by two amazing sisters. We played with their dogs, walked up and down the rows of flowers-dodging the water sprinkler, giddy from being surrounded with such beauty. Everything about this farm was dreamy.

We drove home with the windows down, breathing deep the scents of clean grass mixed with the scent of wild phlox , with dirty little hands gripping tightly their bouquets of  buttercups and anemones. We were full of giggles and exclamations that it was the best time ever. Not only did I get a GOGEOUS bunch of anemones, but I also got a dozen of the  freshest eggs I have had in a very  long time! They are so beautiful I had to photograph them:)

My mother instilled in me a deep appreciation, connection and love for flowers from a very young age. We often went for nature walks to pick flowers and she was also an avid gardener. I enjoy sharing this love with Trey and seeing how much he enjoys the beauty of nature. I smile at the thought that some day I may have a daughter in law who thanks me for it:)

Although money was tight for much of my childhood, it was common for my mom to splurge on a bouquet of fresh flowers. In the spring she would get Anemones from a farm nearby that specialized in growing them. There is something about the rich jewel tones, the soft fuzzy centers and the delicate collar that makes me swoon. It also is the connection I feel to my mom through these flowers that makes them extra special. The day before my wedding my mother brought me a huge bouquet of Anemones in a large florists pail.  Ever since she has passed I have longed to find Anemones to welcome spring.

I have a few more adventures from the past two weeks to share. Coming soon!

Oooooh this summer is going to be great!
