Commercial and Business Photography Work ~ Albany professional Photographer Thea Coughlin

“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls”

~ Joseph Campbell

RDC asked me to take some head shots while I was at The 2010 Spring Squam Art Workshops. I was introduced to Rockywold Deephaven Camps through Elizabeth (the director of Squam Art Workshops). I was so flattered when RDC hired me last year to photograph the camps for a completely new website.

The new RDC website launched in the beginning of this year. What a treat to see my photographs represent such a gorgeous camp ( all except for the historic photos of course) and to be a part of this beautiful new website (designed by Noel at Gold Star Studios and built by Omworks). An even bigger treat is working with the amazing people at RDC and being there on the camps.

It is so well put under activities on the website that I won’t try to paraphrase.

“Have you ever dreamed about having your own lake house? Or, how about this: a dreamy lakeside cottage where friendly staff takes care of all the work and upkeep for you. Fabulous meals are a matter of course. Wood and ice are delivered daily. Kayaks, canoes, and Sunfish sailboats are readily available as are eight beautiful clay tennis courts.

Every week has a range of activities including hikes, guided nature walks, wee camper programs, wacky canoe races, ultimate Frisbee, softball, swimming, fishing, boat tours, movies and just plain relaxing with a favorite book. Is this sounding good to you?

Well, then–– come join us, the water’s fine!”

I love connecting with and working with small businesses where there is a shared appreciation or value related to what they do. I have learned to say no to work where I  don’t feel a connection (often corporate head shots). Without a connection, my work no longer feels fun. If I don’t enjoy my work, then my photographs show it. This has been one of the most valuable discoveries I have had as a new business owner.
