There is something so romantic to me about maternity sessions. The intimacy between a couple seems to deepen with the expectation of a new family member. One whom I am sure they have spent many a night whispering with each other about and planning for.
My session with Robert and Jennifer was such a session. Here is a sneak peek.
It took me a bit to set up this image. When we moved up higher on the hill to get the horizon lower, a lot of telephone poles obstructed the background. Jennifer went to school for photography, and Robert is a photographer as well. I so appreciate their patience with me while I tried to get this shot.
This image makes me smile and want to nuzzle with my own guy. Isn’t she stunning? I love the skirt she chose. Perfect for a windy hill shot.
The rolling hills seemed to really work with the roundness of Jennifer’s belly. I just love this image.
I felt a little lighter and dreamier for this next shot. The lighting was a little different and I chose some slightly different tones. I love the light on her hair and the playfulness of this.
In this one Jennifer looks so happy. I remember feeling pretty blissed out when I was at this stage of carrying Trey. I love the symbolism of the path. Because parenthood is a journey, isn’t it?
I stopped doing maternity sessions unless they are part of a Belly to Baby package. I will be re adding in some maternity photographs into my portfolio soon.
