When I arrive for a newborn photo session it takes me a few trips to carry in all my gear. I am so curious what parents think as I just keep going back out for more and more stuff. *giggle*
In the middle of maybe my 2nd trip in, for this session, it dawned on me that parents may wonder why I seemingly ignore the baby when I first get to the house.
The truth is I have to…because the moment I lay my eyes on the cuteness I won’t want to leave their side to get the rest of my gear from the car:) I can’t explain my adoration for newborns. I absolutely LOVE them!
Anyway…for this session, I had more than the usual amount of props. In attempt to be quieter going in and out of the house, I pulled the metal do-hicky thing to hold the screen door open.
Imagine my horror when I went to close it after I was done, and it was frozen stuck. Oh yeah…completely frozen stuck! Great way to make a first impression-break my clients screen door. I apologized profusely and held my breath while Logan worked on it. Thank goodness he is super handy and got it unstuck.
The moment I laid eyes on Gia, I forgot my embarrassment over the door and was in baby bliss. Gia is such a laid back baby. She didn’t make a peep the whole session. She is absolutely lovely and so are her parents.
I have been waiting since the winter to use this new baby prop. When the tree in my front yard went into bloom a few days before our session, I knew this would be a great time to try the sling. I have to give a special thanks to Logan who did a fabulous job holding the branch for me while I took pictures. I couldn’t resist showing a little sneak peek at the behind the scenes at the end of the post.
Enjoy the pictures!

Unedited pull back to show how this was done. Dad held the branch- a few inches above a big cushy pillow.
