Newborn Photo Session ~ Sneak Peek ~ Albany Photographer Thea Coughlin

Meet Mike Chris, and Aidan. We had a wonderful newborn photography session last week.  When Chris first contacted me, she wanted to talk about whether we should have the session later in the summer when they were moved into their new house.  I am so glad she contacted me before Aidan arrived so we could talk about the pros and cons of waiting.

The one con is that babies perk up around 3 weeks and getting these sorts of shots are much harder. I am so glad Chris and Mike decided to go with having the session when Aidan was under the three week mark (8 days old). Aidan is such a cute little peanut and I am thrilled we had the chance to capture him in this sleepy newborn stage.

Mike and Chris are such a great team. They share such a sweet connection between them and with Aidan. It was beautiful to witness.

Chris was prepared for our session. She had seen the ribbon shot I do so often and went out and got some great blue and brown ribbon that will coordinate with Aidan’s nursery. I had a perfect brown fabric to use along with it.

For a new parent/dad, Mike seems especially comfortable holding Aidan, and we captured a picture of  one of his most common positions he uses with Aidan.

This hat has very special meaning. The hat was made by Chris’s mother, from yarn that was Mike’s grandmothers.

There are many more stunning pictures to come….

LOVE these, Thea! Especially the first one, with mom on baby’s back. So precious!
