Christine Mason Miller is another fabulous artist and writer that I got to photograph at Squam Art Workshops this Spring.
I first got to meet Christine in person at 2008 Squam Art Workshops. Christine had her book launch for Ordinary Sparkling Moments at that SAW session. The book is wonderful, packed full of inspiration and beautiful images.
I am paraphrasing, but at her book launch, Christine’s message validated that each of us has a creative voice and what she shared about her own experience of moving past being afraid of the unknown was so encouraging.
She stressed the importance of following our intuition, and the creative fluttering we feel in the pit of our stomach. That to honor it by letting it out/setting it free affects others like a rippling effect. Listening to her talk that night-sitting in a cabin, packed full of people , with the rain creating the most magical background soundtrack, was a pivotal time for me. I left that evening feeling more sure about pursuing photography even though at times I felt intimidated or a bit afraid. It was especially timely being that SAW was my first multi-day photography job, and I was so nervous!
Since that fall, I have repeatedly been inspired by Christine’s writing and reflections over on her blog. He artwork decorates my walls and her words reside close to my heart.
I was so happy that Christine and I were able to find time for a session this spring. We stole away for a visit in her cabin before going out amongst the trees for the session.
The lighting was stunning that morning and the colors she chose complimented her beautiful blue eyes and the surroundings perfectly.
I just adore the photographs we got!
