![]() ![]() The weather this fall has been a bit tricky in terms of planning outdoor photo sessions. Because the weather is now cooler and the days shorter, it is necessary to schedule sessions a bit earlier in the day. Some days it is too cold without the sun, and some days the sun is so strong it is tricky to work with. During this family photography session, the sun was strong and bright. It fit perfectly with this family, whose laughter and spirit was a perfect match for the lightness in the photographs. There is more to come from this session soon, this is just a sneak peek…

![]() ![]() Hi Thea! Its been a while since I have had time to come and visit. I was just scrolling through your beautiful work, and had to comment! These are so beautiful and fun! I LOVE the boy with the Bulldozers! Also, I am in love with the gorgeous newborn and mommy photos in the post (above or below this one) Amazing! You are so talented! OMG…love the buldozers!! Great color…and great fun!! This newborn session was a dream. This little angel was such a happy sleepy baby. It is hard not to think the smiles we captured weren’t gas, but part of me thinks it was all the joy and gratitude being felt during our session that brought a smile to her face. I know that my heart was so full photographing this family. More soon…

![]() ![]() Absolutley one of the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen! It brought me to tears. I’m only sorry we didn’t know about Thea when Maddie was born, but we will call her soon! Thea, you have given this family a gift that words are unable to describe. Mom actually said, “this is the best present you have ever given me.” God blessed us with her, and finding you was a continuation of that blessing….Thank you from Mom and Dad. Oh Thea that first photo is just amazing! Thea, that first image is just amazing! I can’t help but smile and feel the love. Wonderful capture! The first images is amazing. Wonderful capture. Mom will treasure it always. ~ unloading the dishwasher
~ believe we all should have big wishes and dreams – one of mine is to attend a Jesh de Rox workshop. His wisdom and artistry is soul filling.
For weeks I nagged my husband about what he wanted to do for the big 4-0. He kept saying “nothing, it’s just like any other birthday”. He did say he would like a photo of Trey and I for his office. I contacted a photographer in western NY about a session this summer, but she never got back to me:( Here is the long and drawn out session I had on Friday afternoon with our little man. It is the first time I have used a remote….hello-whole new world! For about half of them I was unaware that my head was being cut off. I thought these all deserved to be seen by my husband, as they are quite funny to me. Told him he can pick his favorite and I will edit it and have it printed. Guess we will be practicing using the remote more, as we are way overdue for some family photos. A little back story. Trey picked this tie one afternoon when we were shopping at the mall with his Grandma. He picked it to be like Daddy. He says when he grows up he is going to go to work with daddy, sit at the desk right next to his and they will talk. My husband doesn’t comment on clothes very much, but for as many years as i can remember, the few times he does make a suggestion-most often he casually says…” that would look great with a white button down”. I often wear white to photo sessions so I don’t stand out as a color blob in the catch lights of my clients eyes, but since I stopped teaching, rarely will you find me in a button down. I figured the least I could do was buy a white button down to wear for a photograph he will hang in his office:) Trey doesn’t like button down shirts so that is why he is wearing his tie with a white t-shirt. It was a busy week and I had to get the shirt, die my roots and find an afternoon when it wasn’t raining and when Trey was willing. Afternoons can be a sensitive time for this no napping 4.5 yr old. This list left us scrambling up to 4pm on Friday. My office window looks right out into our neighborhood and I have been eying a red maple of our neighbors for the past week. When I saw her come home from work on Friday, Trey and I hustled over and asked if we could take some photos under the tree. Trey was overtired and in crazy drive, but he was excited to wear his tie and take some photos for daddy. He wanted to try the remote, but each time he did it wouldn’t work, so he would run around moaning and throwing his limbs every which way. I had to start making promises of chocolate and a very happy daddy. I kept trying to stay in the vicinity of the field of view of the camera, while trying to catch him and get him to smile. There was a lot of tickling going on. I must say I had a whole new appreciation for my clients during this session. I kept trying to treat myself and Trey with the same patience I have for my clients. It was challenging but I am glad we did it. With prcatice maybe Trey will get good with the remote, and maaaaybe, we will have more family photos for our own albums:0 Enjoy! **oh forgot that I also included poorly taken photos of Trey’s card he “wrote” to his grandma. I didn’t know Trey could copy letters and wanted my husband to see it, but didn’t want to not send the card, so I took some pics and added them at the end of the slide show. http://www.theacoughlin.com/terry_bithday (yes the r is missing from birthday in the url-I was pretty tired when I loaded it and didn’t have time to correct it) I think me needs a remote great photo ! |
